DCT Remembers Beloved Family, Longtime Volunteers

DCT is deeply saddened to hear recent news that a lovely family, who were longtime DCT volunteers, died in a tragic car wreck last Friday.

LeAnn Miller, her husband Mike and their children Zoey and Miles were beloved members of their local community. Actively involved in church and Scouts, the family also generously devoted their time and energy to making DCT audiences feel warmly welcomed.

“They had upbeat, positive personalities, always very pleasant and helpful to everyone,” recalls DCT Director of Ticketing and Patron Services Steve Jones who remembers frequently chatting with the family when they volunteered and came to see the shows. “I still remember LeAnn coming up to DCT even when she was pregnant with her son a few years ago. The Millers were a joy to the staff and to the patrons.”

During the past eight years, LeAnn, along with her daughter, and sometimes her husband as well, frequently served as volunteer ushers at DCT shows. The Miller family’s friendly, helpful demeanor made a great first impression of DCT for patrons as they entered the theater.

“I always could depend on the Millers. They seemed like very warm people,” said DCT Development Assistant/Volunteer Coordinator Wanda Roberson. “I could tell they so loved this theater. They really wanted to help and to make a difference.”

The contributions of the Miller family have made a tremendous impact on DCT and the 250,000 children and families who attend our shows each year. The loss of the Miller family is wide felt in our community, and they will be deeply missed.
